As Christmas draws closer, escape to the countryside for a cosy overnight retreat at The Black Swan at Oldstead. Begin your stay with a seasonal Oldstead cocktail by the fire, before settling into your room to discover a selection of festive treats, prepared by our chefs.
That evening, join us in the restaurant for our Tasting Menu, celebrating the very best of Oldstead through preserved ingredients, winter produce and the flavours of the season.
After a restful night in the countryside, wake to a hearty Oldstead breakfast before heading home, with a festive hamper from Made In Oldstead to enjoy over Christmas and bring a little taste of Oldstead to your table.
Your stay will also include our Festive Guide to North Yorkshire, filled with our favourite places to visit, seasonal experiences and things to do during your time in the area.
The cosy festive retreat is priced from £795 and is bookable on all available days from 1st – 23rd December.

Terms & Conditions
The package is available for stays from Tuesday to Saturday between 1st – 23rd December 2026, subject to availability. The rate is based on two guests sharing a room. You must go to the exact date you wish to book for this experience to show availability. We require a £300 per room per night deposit to secure the booking. For cancellations within 14 days of arrival the deposit payment would be lost unless we were able to relet the booking. For cancellations outside of the 14 days we would refund the deposit minus a £10 admin fee.
Dine at The Black Swan Oldstead
The Black Swan is a 1 Michelin-star, a Michelin Green Star and 4 AA Rosette restaurant with rooms by chef Tommy Banks.
Experience a tasting menu that is inspired by the ingredients that we grow and forage ourselves in and around Oldstead. The tasting menu is priced at £195 per person for dinner and £135 per person for Saturday lunch.
Stay at The Black Swan Oldstead
We offer 1 night stays Tuesday - Saturday which include the tasting menu, overnight stay and breakfast in one of our nine beautiful rooms. When The Black Swan rooms are full we offer our packages at our sister site, The Abbey Inn at Byland (located 1 mile away). Please note The Abbey Inn is closed on a Tuesday and Wednesday; check in would be at The Black Swan on both these days.
We also offer 2 night packages arriving on a Saturday or Monday only. Guests will enjoy our tasting menu on Saturday/Tuesday and can experience our sister restaurant, The Abbey Inn, on the Sunday/Monday.
