Garden Tour & Overnight Stay Package 2026
Being able to serve cross seasonal produce from summers past in the peak of winter, as well as freshly picked produce in the height of summer is what’s at the heart of our menus, and our garden is an integral part of this. So, we’re excited to open our garden up for guests to come and learn about the sustainable, regenerative growing techniques and preservation methods we’ve adopted and developed over the years, here in Oldstead.
The Garden Tour package is available on select Wednesday and Thursday nights through June, July, August & September 2026.
It includes:
– An overnight stay at The Black Swan Oldstead
– An extensive tour of our garden by one of our experienced gardeners
– An Oldstead cocktail and seasonal snacks, cooked and served by our chefs in the garden
– Tasting menu for two at The Black Swan Oldstead
– A hearty Oldstead breakfast
– Oldstead preservation pack to take away
– A copy of Tommy’s cookbook, Roots

Due to the requirement for walking, standing, and navigating uneven surfaces, this package may not be suitable for individuals with limited mobility. We strongly recommend that guests wear suitable footwear and clothing for the tour.

Itinerary:
Day of Arrival:
2.15pm – Arrive in the bar at The Black Swan Oldstead. One of our team will collect you and take you around to the garden
2.30pm – Welcome drink (non-alcoholic option available), seasonal snacks and garden tour
3.30pm – Check in to your room for some downtime before heading for dinner from our tasting menu
Day of Departure:
8.30am – 9.30am – Breakfast at The Black Swan Oldstead
10.30am – Check out

Terms & Conditions:
This package is based on 2 people sharing a room. This package may not be suitable for individuals with limited mobility due to the requirement for walking, standing, and navigating uneven surfaces.
A £300 deposit is taken at the time of booking. You must cancel your reservation outside of 21 days to receive a full refund minus a £10 administration charge. The remaining balance of the package, all drinks and any extras taken throughout your stay will be payable on departure. In adverse weather conditions we may need to transfer the tour to the day of departure which we will endeavour to do with as much notice as possible.
Dine at The Black Swan Oldstead
The Black Swan is a 1 Michelin-star, a Michelin Green Star and 4 AA Rosette restaurant with rooms by chef Tommy Banks.
Experience a tasting menu that is inspired by the ingredients that we grow and forage ourselves in and around Oldstead. The tasting menu is priced at £195 per person for dinner and £135 per person for Saturday lunch.
Stay at The Black Swan Oldstead
We offer 1 night stays Tuesday - Saturday which include the tasting menu, overnight stay and breakfast in one of our nine beautiful rooms. When The Black Swan rooms are full we offer our packages at our sister site, The Abbey Inn at Byland (located 1 mile away). Please note The Abbey Inn is closed on a Tuesday and Wednesday; check in would be at The Black Swan on both these days.
We also offer 2 night packages arriving on a Saturday or Monday only. Guests will enjoy our tasting menu on Saturday/Tuesday and can experience our sister restaurant, The Abbey Inn, on the Sunday/Monday.
